Authors may not be aware that their publisher’s marketing department receives hundreds (if not thousands) of requests each year to have their books displayed at a scholarly or professional meeting. Book Exhibit Managers cannot fulfill every request—they do their best.

Library of Social Science tries to facilitate marketing decisions by selecting—from the wide range of conferences held each year—only the best: those that attract the most serious, prominent and influential scholars and professionals.

Marketing people who deal with conference organizers trying to develop a book exhibit have a thankless task. People reach out to them only when asking them to send a book, a group of books or a flyer to a meeting.

Although marketers play a major role in promoting a book and its author, people are not often aware of the contributions they make.

Library of Social Science works with over 300 marketing people each year (we listed many of the publishers we work with in a previous Newsletter). We appreciate what each of them does. But we wish to acknowledge in this issue of the LSS Newsletter the STARS OF MARKETING.

These people are a pleasure to work with. They demonstrate passion and determination making certain that their books—and their authors—become well known.

These people are star-makers, but also the STARS OF MARKETING.
