HOW LIBRARY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE WILL PROMOTE YOUR BOOKS AT SCHOLARLY AND PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCES

Beginning in 1988 with a book exhibit that occupied a single table, the Library of Social Science has grown into the premiere book exhibit company bringing the latest and most significant publications to the scholars, educators, and professionals who use them in teaching and research.

Over the past sixteen years, the Library of Social Science has developed and perfected a unique paradigm for creating, organizing, and managing book exhibits at scholarly and professional conferences, based on the insight that it is possible to broaden the market for scholarly books and journals through comprehensive displays of outstanding new titles focused on a conference theme.

By focusing exclusively on the social sciences, we are able to bring to bear a level of expertise and professionalism previously unheard of, allowing us to create exhibits of unsurpassed quality at significant, cutting edge conferences.

We choose events in fast-moving, cutting-edge fields, and select conferences that attract influential audiences and feature high-profile speakers. These events are attended by large numbers of teaching professionals seeking books to assign for classes, as well as other active scholars who need the latest publications for their research.

The Library of Social Science manages the entire book exhibit at a conference from beginning to end, thus maintaining consistency, control, accuracy, and professionalism. We plan in advance to obtain the most prominent space available at the meeting site for the book exhibit to make certain that your books will garner maximum attention. We strive to locate our book exhibits at the heart of the action and make them central attractions at conferences.

With twelve to thirty tables of books (each title displayed face-out), Library of Social Science exhibits are a sight to behold. Conference attendees are not only impressed but often stunned by the quality of the displays. Our exhibits showcase the publications of conference speakers (whose presence at the meeting is the best advertising for their books) and highlight individual publishers, who may be provided with an entire table for their books and promotional literature.

By working closely with meeting organizers, we assure that our exhibits are not only situated for maximal impact at the conference site but broadly publicized in conference programs and organizational newsletters.

Our professional background in the social sciences (doctoral degrees in psychology and anthropology) gives us credibility with conference and organization executives and helps us plan and create exhibits with conferee's exact reading and teaching interests in mind. We understand the books we sell, and are able to discuss them with purchasers.

More than three hundred publishers rely on the Library of Social Science for promoting their books and journals at carefully selected conferences. For additional information on exhibiting, please call Mei Ha Chan or Richard Klein at 718-393-1075 or email LSSBookExhibits@earthlink.net.
